Abstract

This article describes the development and application of driverless transport vehicles, in particular AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles). AGVs have expanded considerably over the years, initially as simple towing vehicles that followed wires on the floor, but now there are many different models and applications. AGVs range from industrial applications to warehouse and human service areas. AGVs are now used in almost every industry and, as technology continues to advance, we are seeing
them in more and more areas. Money invested in automation is one of the best investments for warehouses, and the proliferation of AGVs and AMRs (Automated Mobile Robots) reflects this trend.
